The ICT Adoption Strategy: ICT Visibility

PHASE 1: ICT Visibility focuses on the use of ICT in the whole school environment. It provides a brief but informative understanding of how ICT can be used to improve the everyday activities of the school i.e. administration and in the classroom. 

ICT Visibility is divided into 4 parts:

Step 1:

Open up your Phone Play Store (Google Play store/ iStore)

 

Step 2: 

Android: Search ‘QR code reader & QR code Scanner’

iPhone: Search in your iStore: QR Code Reader

 

If you have an iPhone with iOS 11, there is a built in scanner.

Follow these steps: How to scan a QR code with an iPhone

  • Open the Camera app from the Home screen, Control Center, or Lock screen.

  • Select the rear-facing camera. Hold your device so that the QR code appears in the viewfinder in the Camera app. Your device recognizes the QR code and shows a notification.

  • Tap the notification to open the link associated with the QR code.

Step 3:

Android: Click on the first option: QR code reader & QR code Scanner by TWMobile or one of your choice or Click on the following link: http://bit.ly/android_QR1

iPhone: Click on QR Code Reader by TapMedia or click the following link: http://bit.ly/iphone_QR1

Activity 3: Create a QR code

 

Here’s a step-wise explanation of how to create a QR code -

​

  1. Select a FREE and Secure QR code generator: https://www.qr-code-generator.com/ or use https://www.the-qrcode-generator.com/

  2. Decide what content you would like to display

  3. Enter the relevant information

  4. Customize the colors and the logo

  5. Decide between a static or dynamic QR code (what is this?)

  6. Generate and test the QR code

  7. Download it in your preferred format (PNG, JPEG, EPS, SVG)
