ICT Adoption Strategy

In support of the eLearning Change Management initiative, the Western Cape Education Department (WCED) presents the initiative to implement an ICT Adoption Strategy.

The ICT Adoption strategy is aimed at creating a transformational pathway for schools to adopt technologies and ICT in all schooling environments i.e. administration, school management and operations and classroom environments (teaching and learning spaces).

As schools choose to embark on a transformation journey, adopting and adapting to a new change environment is challenging. This strategy serves as an induction into the use of ICT in the school environment. It provides a baseline for ICT conceptual enhancement, on which further professional development can build.
The ICT Adoption strategy is divided into 3 phases (ICT Visibility, ICT Landscape and ICT School Strategy) and this developmental pathway forms the basis for the WCED transformation Strategy.

Without change there is no innovation, creativity, or incentive for improvement. Those who initiate change will have a better opportunity to manage the change that is inevitable.
