About the ICT Adoption Strategy

The Western Cape Education Department (WCED) eLearning directorate presents the initiative to implement an ICT Adoption Strategy.

The ICT Adoption strategy is aimed at creating a transformational pathway for teachers and their participation in school ICT integration and development. This course helps you to adopt technologies and ICT in all schooling environments i.e. administration, school management and operations, and classroom environments (teaching and learning spaces).

The ICT Adoption Strategy is a self-paced 24-hour course (14 hours dedicated to online material and 10 hours dedicated to Individual Digital Portfolio work) hosted on the WCED Moodle Platform. It provides a strategic and foundational focus on the main aspects of how to use ICT optimally.

It is divided into 3 phases (ICT Visibility, ICT Landscape, and ICT School Strategy (Transformation Agenda)). This course is integrated into the WCED teacher professional developmental pathway and forms the basis for the WCED transformation Strategy.
